Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with a little oil or butter.

Add the onion rings and sauté until soft and golden brown in 10-15 minutes.

Add the barbecue sauce to the pan and mix well with the onions.

Simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce has thickened a bit and the onions are nice and sticky.

Fry the burgers according to the package, usually 3-4 minutes per side.

Place a slice of cheddar cheese on the burger during the last minute to melt it.

Slice open the buns and toast them briefly in a grill pan.

Spread the bottom half of the bun with the Oliehoorn hamburger sauce.
